FREE BACKGROUND CHECKS HELP WOMEN STAY SAFE

Chicago-area detective Dave Hertog knows a thing or two about private investigations. But what most people don’t know is that private investigations can be done at home – completely free – with no prior detective experience required.

Dave Hertog recently heard the story of Ingrid Lyne, a 40-year-old mother and nurse who met a new boyfriend on a dating website. Soon after, her remains were found in a recycling bin. Public records show that the boyfriend actually had a laundry list of convictions and his own parents feared him. The boyfriend remains a main suspect in Ingrid’s homicide case.

“I want to be able to teach people how to protect themselves by using free background checks,” Dave Hertog said. “In just 15 minutes, I can teach women how to protect themselves from predators – or even help everyday people protect themselves from scammers.”

Aside from online predators and savvy scammers, there’s tons of websites trying to lure people into signing up for “free” or “low-cost” background checks – websites that are completely unnecessary, as the local detective points out.

“People think you need some sort of security clearance to be able to investigate someone’s background,” Dave Hertog said. “It’s free, and everybody should know how to do it.”

Dave Hertog’s Background Investigations 101 consultations can be done one-on-one or in groups.

Dave Hertog of Hertog and Associates, Inc. has more than 15 years experience in executive safety, investigations, threat assessment and management. He has aided classified federal government counterterrorism and counterintelligence efforts, and has completed rigorous training from the FBI, Drug Enforcement Administration, U.S. Intelligence Services and the Defense Investigative Service.
